Welcome to EMJ! 

We are so excited to welcome our new and returning students to EMJ for the 2024-2025 school year.  The first day was buzzing with lots of excitement, happiness and nerves. We look forward to a great year with your child. Thank you to our school community for making the transition back to school so smooth.  

Picture Day  

Picture day this year will be on September 16. Photos will take place in the morning and will be individual pictures. A retake day will be scheduled later in October.  

Open House Evening 

We will be hosting an open house evening on September 19 from 5:00-6:30pm. We invite parents and guardians to come and meet your child's teacher, see their classroom and learn more about out school. We look forward to seeing everyone there.  

School Security  

For the safety of students and staff, we ask that all visitors to the school check in at the main office. If you need to pick up your child we will happily call them down to the office. If you need to discuss something with the teacher, please book a time with them either before or after school.  

Drop Off and Pick up 

Pick up and drop off times can get quite busy. Give yourself extra time to navigate safely around schools, whether you are walking, wheeling, or driving. For those who drive, help alleviate congestion by parking a block or two away and walking in, wherever possible.  

Talk to your kids about safe travel practices like using crosswalks with patrols, looking all ways before crossing the street and not jaywalking across the roadways as a shortcut.

Parents are asked to drop students off along the south side of Sackville Drive. With many charter buses backing up and turning around at each entry and dismissal time, our parking lot is very busy and cannot accommodate parent vehicles in the school parking lot at any time. 
 

Students have been directed not to cross the parking lot. Staff will remind students to walk around the school grounds if being picked up. Parents are welcome to meet their child at an exit and escort their child. We appreciate the lack of access and feel this allows students contact with their ride without risking student safety. Thank you in advance for being courteous and contributing to student safety by not using the school parking lot.
