We were so fortunate to have Constable VanWaes visit our school this week to discuss some community safety, kindness to others and respect for property. She was able to share her experiences and advice to our grades 4, 5 and 6 students which was very well received by students. We look forward to continuing this relationship with the Calgary Police Service next year.

Our school has been so fortunate and grateful for the teaching of Indigenous ways to our students this year by Hal Eagletail and Sandra Manyfeathers. This experience has brought to light a better understanding and respect for the Indigenous people and their traditions. A huge thank you to both Hal and Sandra and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them both next year.

School Council provided the most delicious treat on Friday to all our students. Each student received a cookie snack from Cookies by George. There were many smiles and lots of excitement. Thank you School Council for your generosity.

Our students bid farewell to our baby ducklings who were more than ready to go out into the wild. We watched them hatch and grow into some very busy little ones. The ducks had a "duck walk" down our hallways to say good bye. It was a great learning experience for our students.

Next week, our grade six students will finish up their Provincial Achievement Tests on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The students and teachers have been putting in a lot of work to prepare so there is bound to be a lot of success.

Our Grade 5 students have been invited to Harold Panabaker School on Friday to engage in some Indigenous games and activities. Last year, the students had a fantastic time making butter for bannock and playing games outside. We look forward to this again this year.
