Students had a wonderful and busy week at school. Our Book Fair and Gingerbread House Family Night were definite highlights. Thank you to School Council for organizing and hosting such a fun evening. Families had the chance to build together, and it was great to see so many creative and unique gingerbread house designs filling the gym. The atmosphere was festive, and students were excited to share this experience with their families.
In classrooms, our grade six students took part in an exciting hands-on STEM challenge, designing devices meant to protect an egg when dropped from a significant height. Students used problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity—and we’re happy to report that many eggs survived the fall! Other classes spent time learning about the water cycle, using diagrams, art projects, and written explanations to show their understanding. Students also enjoyed making marshmallow snowmen connected to a winter story, which brought lots of smiles and laughter. Across the school, many classes continued their morning routines with thoughtful math talks, helping students build confidence while explaining their thinking and solving problems together.
Looking ahead, we are very excited to host our first concert of the year next week. Ms. Laney has been working closely with all of our students, helping them practice a variety of winter songs that they are proud to perform. Families with students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 are warmly invited to join us on Thursday evening for a wonderful celebration of music and community. Students are eager to take the stage and share what they’ve been working on.
We also have a Healthy Hunger lunch (Papa John’s) coming up next week. If your child would like to participate, please remember to place your order online by the end of the weekend.
We look forward to another great week ahead!
